We do many project to help project a better future upon the children of our area. These include the Food Pantry, Angel Tree, and many more.

Hope For Housing started the food pantry in 2003 to help those who came to us for food needs.  Our mission statement of Matthew 25:35-40 is our goal to feed and cloth those that God sends to us no matter what county they live in, we are there to help.  We feed approximately 500 families every month from our Food Pantry location at 2988 West Hwy. 11 here in Pittsburg.  The need is great, and we feel in addition to the loaf of bread we give, every bag has been hand decorated with a Scripture of God’s Daily Bread also wrote on it so our patrons can feel God’s love along with ours as we give them hope for each day, and that there is love in our Food Pantry.  We are not a hand out, but a helping hand in someone’s time of need. To date we have helped feed over 1,725 families in their

struggle to provide food on their tables.

Food Pantry

Project List

Our Food Pantry is truly a Bible “Loaves & Fish” story as God keeps providing us with food to give to others.  In 2003 we started our Community Garden also to help provide

Healthy food and a pride in taking ownership of planting the garden and helping harvest it, our Garden rules are simple if you see a weed pull it, if you see a healthy tomato take it

for your family also.  Lowes and Bonner Nursery have provided over $10,000.00 yearly

worth of plants, seeds, garden tools, lawn furniture for our seniors to sit on. We have encouraged several youth groups also in help in putting the garden in the ground and helping us maintain the garden.  We feed over 500 families every year from our Community Garden, it is also located next to our Food Pantry at 2988 West Hwy. 11 here in Pittsburg.  Most of our recipients live in apartments where they do not have the opportunity to grow a garden to help with their food needs, the Community Garden has truly been a blessing to their home needs.  Imagine over 600 tomato plants, every pepper from hot to sweet, squash, carrots, green beans, herbs, corn, and even watermelons to have to feed your family with that each family also had a hand in helping plant and harvest it for their home.  Once again our goal is to teach a “self worth” and show God’s love to those in their time of need.
